Dr. Wood has been a licensed clinical social worker for over 25 years, working in a variety of behavioral health settings such as addictions, mental health, criminal/juvenile justice, and family preservation before becoming a full-time academic. She is an assistant professor in social work at Southeastern Louisiana University and a member of the international Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers since 2016. Dr. Wood has conducted over 100 workshops related to motivational interviewing and is a published academic author.
